Experience
Dwight Wiles' music industry career spans thirty years and is as varied as it is accomplished. His diverse experience has allowed him to cultivate a wide array of skills that lend a unique perspective to his work as one of the music industry's best known and most trusted business management advisors.

His first interaction with the music industry began when he booked and promoted performances for national acts as Concert Committee Chairman while a student at Ohio Wesleyan University. After graduation, he put his urban planning education on hold to become a road manager and later co-manager for the Ohio-based Atlantic Records group McGuffey Lane. Unique in his current field, Dwight's first hand experience as a personal manager with his hands-on knowledge of the road along with his technical accounting experience singularly qualifies him to advise his clients through the various stages of their careers and lives.

Dwight is also Chief Operating Officer of Copyright Exchange and co-owner, with Marghie Evans of Do Write Music. Formed in 2005 with the late Gary Smith, Copyright Exchange provides marketing, negotiating, accounting and administrative services to buyers and sellers of music-related copyright catalogs. Do Write Music is a full service administration company providing royalty collection and licensing services for songwriters, publishers, record companies and producers.temple

Moving to Nashville in 1987 as a manager, Dwight made the transition to business management by starting his own firm in 1992, and partnering with Gary Smith in 1995 to form Smith Wiles & Co., PC.

Born in Painesville, Ohio, outside of Cleveland (self-proclaimed rock 'n' roll capitol of the Universe), Dwight is a Certified Public Accountant with an undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and an MBA from the University of Dayton.

He is a member of the CMA, ACM, NARAS and TSCPA. He is also a Leadership Music Alumnus 2001(and a former Board Member and Secretary. He presently serves on the board of the ACM and Lifting Lives. When he is not at the office, he is usually bicycling around the hills of Tennessee and the winding roads in the Rockies, Alps, Pyrenees, and Himalayan Mountains.
